With the week honoring former President Ronald Reagan behind us, I have an observation to share. A former president’s death certainly needs to be acknowledged and given respect.

But I have never witnessed such an overwrought handling of a solemn occasion.

This somber event seemed to be reduced to a spectacle that bordered on vulgarity–not to mention the cost to the taxpayer.
