This is regarding the letter to the editor “Disrespectful dress” (Voice of the people, June 15). I can only assume that the letter writer has never been to the Washington, D.C., area during a typical summer day. The dress of those paying their respects to former President Ronald Reagan is due to waiting several hours in 80-plus-degree, sunny weather with a relative humidity that approached 90 percent. I believe a little understanding is due to those who had to endure these conditions.
