There should be an award named after 6-year-old Donald Houser-Richerme, who jumped in a pool to try to save his friend and recently died, as reported in “Chicago Ridge boy who rescued girl from pool dies; He was trapped in murky water” (Metro, June 16).

The award would go to anybody who saves a person from drowning.

The boy’s parents raised him right. He is a hero.
