On Monday, Independence Day will be observed as a federal holiday. The following public services will be affected:
Schools: Public schools will be closed.
Government offices: All federal, state, county and city offices will be closed.
Postal service: No mail will be delivered.
Courts: Federal, state and county courts will be closed, except for Cook County Bond Court.
Libraries: All branches of the Chicago Public Library will be closed.
Banks: Financial institutions will be closed.
Financial markets: The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Stock Exchange will be closed.
Parking: Meters do not have to be fed.
Transit: CTA, Metra and Pace will operate on Sunday schedules.
