Your article addressing the Bush administration’s attempts to overturn President Bill Clinton’s protections of our national forests from “development” (Page 1, July 13) inspired my wife to remark, “Oh, they probably need those roads for national security.” She is blessed with the ability to read humor into the most dire of circumstances.
