The National Transportation Safety Board is renewing its efforts to install video cameras in cockpits so accident investigators will have better information on what causes plane crashes. The Air Line Pilots Association, the largest pilots union, opposes the move and issued a statement saying “far more effective and efficient tools exist.” The Federal Aviation Administration, that would require the recorders, has taken the first steps in developing technical standards for them.
