– AAA hosts a Strollerthon Aug. 7 at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe. Volunteers will walk or push baby strollers along a marked three-mile route and seek pledges to raise funds to purchase child safety and booster seats for free distribution to low-income families. Participants can register at www.aaa.com/safety or at the Botanic Garden. Registration at the garden starts at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9. – The Cruisin’ Tigers GTO Club will host the 14th annual All Pontiac Car Show Aug. 8 at the Kane County Events Center on Kirk Road in Geneva. The event, which begins at 8 a.m. with registration and ends with judging at 4 p.m., will feature more than 200 Pontiacs and a swap meet. Registration costs $12 before July 30 and $15 on the day of the show. Proceeds benefit Marklund, which serves infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities. – The No. 99 NASCAR show car will be on display at the Best Western River North, 125 W. Ohio St., Chicago, Aug. 10 and 11. Fans are invited to view and be photographed with the car making a cross-country trip that will end Nov. 6 in Phoenix, where it will compete in a Busch Series race.

– A free cruise at the Volo Auto Museum will feature military and emergency vehicles. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 14 at the museum, on Highway 120, 13 miles west of Interstate Highway 94. Visit www.volocars.com or call 815-385-3644.

– A Microcar Drive ‘N Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 15. Participants in Microcars with an engine of less than 700 cc such as the BMW Isetta will leave from Suffield Court near Pottawattami Drive in Skokie and go through Evanston to Plaza Del Lago on Sheridan Road in Wilmette.
