Frances Deinlein Rasmus of Mount Prospect, Illinois died on Friday, July 30, 2004 after a short fight with pancreatic and liver cancer. Born in Chicago on July 26, 1918 to Leo B. Deinlein and Lena Phillips Deinlein, Fran is survived by her daughters, Pamela Pierre, Deborah Rasmus; and son, Robert Rasmus. Formerly of Wilmette, Illinois, Fran was a long time resident (53 years) of Mount Prospect. Her life and career centered on her family, church and community. Fran was founding member of St. Raymond De Penafort Parish in Mount Prospect and started the CCD program at the parish. After actively participating as a volunteer at the fledgling parish school, Fran joined the staff as a third grade teacher, eventually retiring in 1977. After retiring as a teacher, Fran worked at Northwest Community Hospital. Reflecting her love for her church and community, Fran was also an active volunteer for such organizations as the Mount Prospect Public Library, Mount Prospect Senior Citizens Center, Holy Family Hospital, St. Raymond’s Women’s Club and the American Cancer Society. Fran’s greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fran was preceded in death by her brother, Victor; sister, Helen; grandchildren, Lena, Robert and Anna Marie Rasmus; and brother-in-law, Clarence Rasmus. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Pierre, Deborah Rasmus (William Marty), son and daughter-in-law Robert and Carol Rasmus; grandchildren, Isaac Owens Pierre, Rachel Owens Pierre, Isabella Pierre; nephews Christopher Deinlein (Leena) and James Deinlein (Libby); sister-in-law, Bernadine Rasmus; and a very special group of neighbors. Memorial visitation will be held at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 West Central Road at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect, Illinois on Friday, August 6, 2004 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A memorial Mass celebrating Fran’s life will be held at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Rd., (Rt. 83) & Lincoln St., Mt. Prospect, Illinois on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 10 a.m. At Fran’s request, please do not mourn, but if possible, please wear bright colors to celebrate life.
