The buzz in “Bachelorette” land is that Chicago’s own Jen Schefft will be the star of the show’s next installment on ABC.
Schefft graces the cover of this week’s Us Weekly with the headline “Back as the Bachelorette!” according to the magazine’s Web site. And sources close to the show confirmed to E! Online that the former fiance of third “Bachelor” Andrew Firestone will be the keeper of the roses as the third “Bachelorette.”
Bill Rancic, who was briefly linked to Schefft, told RedEye that he “had an idea before it came out in Us Weekly” that she would be the next woman to star in the show, adding that he is happy for her. Schefft did not return calls seeking comment, and ABC would not confirm the news.
Although Schefft’s engagement to Firestone didn’t last, she may have a better chance when the tables are turned. Former bachelorettes Trista Rehn–now married to Ryan Sutter–and Meredith Phillips, who is engaged to Ian McKee, show that the ladies have been luckier in love.
