Bail was set Thursday at $225,000 for one Chicago man and $175,000 for another being held in connection with a string of armed robberies in Cicero, Oak Park and Berwyn.
Cicero police arrested the two this week as they were traveling in a car that matched a description provided by victims. A Cicero officer stopped them Monday morning on the 5000 block of West Cermak Road, police said.
Dominic Carter, 19, who has addresses on both the 4100 block of South Michigan Avenue and the 5500 block of West Gladys Avenue, faces seven counts of armed robbery–five in Cicero, one in Oak Park and one in Berwyn, said Tom Stanton, a spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
Cedric Moore, 19, of the 5500 block of West Congress Parkway is charged with six counts of armed robbery, all along with Carter except for the Berwyn incident, Stanton said. Carter faces the higher bail amount in part because he alone is connected to the Berwyn armed robbery, said Stanton.
Both are being held in the Cook County Jail and are scheduled to appear Friday at a preliminary hearing.
