LIBERTYVILLE — Regarding “Opposing camps debating issue of overalls’ comeback” (Aug. 4): I am a small, 66-year-old woman who has recently rediscovered how comfortable denim overalls can be. They are waistless and hide a good number of figure flaws regardless of your age. I wear them with a T-shirt and sneakers and have gotten no odd looks or heard any rude remarks. If the alleged “Sweety” told me I looked like a moron I would have had a succinct reply ready, I assure you. Such manners!

Many of us spend far too much time worrying about how we look rather than how we feel. Being comfortable in clothes shows on your face and in your body movements. Just watch the face of a woman in those mile-high tippy, pointy shoes. Does she look as if she is having fun?

I have been known to weed my yard in my lovely seersucker pajamas and wear my bedroom slippers to the market. No, I am not daft. I have simply learned to please myself rather than gentlemen such as Mr. Kaeding in InStyle magazine who might approve of my overalls but not my inability to “luxe” them up.
