A woman trying to pull out of a parking space at the Browns Chicken & Pasta restaurant at 87th Street and Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview Thursday afternoon lost control of her automobile and crashed through a window of the eatery, police said.
Several patrons were inside the restaurant at the time, but no one was injured.
Witnesses told Bridgeview police the woman, who police said is in her early 50s, apparently suffered some kind of seizure behind the wheel. Instead of going in reverse, the car lurched forward and crashed through a window on the west side of the building, hit several tables and emerged through the other side, witnesses said.
The driver, who was not identified by police, was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
