Robert Langdon Keats, 90, a resident of Wilmette since 1968, passed away peacefully on July 30 at Hospice of the North Shore. His wife, the former Margaret Anne Achelpohl of Galesburg preceded him in death in 1980. They had four sons. He is survived by sons, Douglas Edward (Carolyn) of Gilbert, AZ, Roger Alan (Kristina) and Walter Langdon (Winnie), both of Wilmette; and a granddaughter, Alexandra Roxane of Wilmette. His eldest son, Robert George was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968. At his request his body was cremated and there will be no memorial service. Memorial Donations may be made to the Captain Robert G. Keats Memorial Fund, Department of Military History, U. S. Military Academy, West Point, NY 10996, or to the charity of your choice. There will be a gathering for friends and family at Roger and Tina Keats’ home, 845 Sheridan Road, Wilmette on Sunday, Aug. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.
