J. Ernest Everett Winter, 75, of Indianapolis, formerly of Munster, IN, passed away August 5, 2004. He served in the U.S. Navy durning the Korean War. He was a member of B’nai B’rith and Congregation Beth-Israel in Munster where he was a former Board Member and Past President of the Beth-Israel Brotherhood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Miller Winter, sisters, Helen Zimet and Elaine Bley and brother, Richard Winter. He was a loving father to his children, Marc (Mary Beth) Winter, Sandy (Rev. Jeanne) Winter and Debbie (Adi) Shtekel; and a loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Sara, Samantha, Stav, Christopher, Megan and Brian; he is also survived by his sister, Natalie “Happy” Kramer; sister-in-law, Patricia Winter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 9, at 12:00 p.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah, 1040 E. 86th St., Suite 46B, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
