Moises Alou is way off base in protesting his treatment by Steve Stone, who is a complete softballer when it comes to criticizing Alou or any other Cub. When they stink, he says they smell, and there are about 9 million reasons why he gets to in Moises’ case. Alou comes from a great baseball family, but that doesn’t make him royalty. I’m shocked that it’s Alou when there’s a fellow Dominican batting near him in the order who would get my vote for thinnest skin on the team.
Asking Stone and Caray be removed from the team plane? Please. It’s the team’s plane, not the players’. If they want to decide whom they ride with, then buy your own plane.
I love the Cubs and it’s my sincere hope Steve Stone chooses to keep doing what he’s doing long after these Cub players cease doing what they’re doing.
