Robert R. Bach, age 81, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Chicago, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the Fountains of Crystal Lake. He was born in Chicago on Dec. 14, 1922. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. After the war he went to work at Northwestern University from which he retired after 45 years of employment. He was an avid pigeon flyer and a member of the American Racing Pigeon Society. Survivors include his daughter, Rosalind Tulip (James) Primmer of Andover, MA and a son, Raymond (Robin) Bach of Crystal Lake, IL; three granddaughters, Erin Tulip of Andover, MA, Alyssia and Amy Bach of Crystal Lake and one grandson, Bryn Tulip of Andover; one brother-in-law, Dr. Vincent Galante of Westchester; one sister-in-law, Jeannette Bach of Elgin, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Christine, nee Galante; his parents; and five brothers. Interment will be private.
