John J. “Jack” Bowen, 85, retired Chicago educator John J. “Jack” Bowen, 85, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in an automobile accident near his home in Orland Park. He was preceded in death by his wife, ‘Asta E. Bowen, in 1980. He is survived by sons, Dan of Minneapolis, MN and Ken of Oak Park, IL; daughter, ‘Asta of Somers, MT; and their families. Burial Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 7600 W. Cermak, Forest Park, IL, followed by a reception near his home. Arrangements are by Zimmerman & Sandeman Funeral Home in Orland Park. Memorial donations may be made to a suitable charity of one’s choice.
