Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It’s official.

Chicago’s Jen Schefft will get a second chance at televised love. ABC confirmed Friday that Schefft will be “The Bachelorette” in the show’s third installment to air in early 2005.

But this time, Schefft–whose engagement to “Bachelor” Andrew Firestone fizzled a few months after the show ended–is leaving little to the casting producers. In a new twist for the tired reality TV show concept, ABC says that Schefft will attend the guys’ auditions around the country.

Chicago guys have little time to prepare. Schefft, who says she’s looking for “someone who is down-to-earth yet ambitious,” will screen in Chicago on Aug. 19. Look for application info at abc.com (keyword: “bachelorette”).

If you get selected, pack your bags for some New York nights. The show is shifting to the East Coast this season.
