Surf’s up for Shannen Doherty.
The former “Charmed” star is joining Fox’s “North Shore” to play the bitchy Alexandra Fuller, estranged sister of Brooke Burns’ character, Variety reports. Doherty will appear on three episodes beginning Sept. 20, with a possibility of more appearances if she helps the show boost ratings and escape cancellation.
Fox made a similar move in the ’90s when it brought on Heather Locklear to play a vixen in “Melrose Place.” Fox execs hope that moving Doherty to Hawaii from “Beverly Hills” will do the same for its prime-time soap du jour.
