Those of us who believe in the vigorous defense of personal liberties at home, the limiting of foreign wars, vigilance in checking the powers of the executive branch, the encouragement of free trade across the globe, the right of the states to rule on most matters themselves and the reduction of the voracious appetite of the federal government find little in either party this election.
We are part Republican, part Democrat and currently undecided.
Both parties seem to be supporting a federal government that can give us everything.
Beware. Such a government can take everything too. Perhaps it has taken too much. We should fear what it will need to take to feed its growing hunger.
