Library officials are putting the final touches on the village’s new library as the town prepares for a grand opening in early October.
“There’s just some landscaping that needs to be done and interior work, other than the moving of the books,” said village spokesman Mike Marzal.
The $9.6 million library is scheduled to open to the public Sept. 7. The grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 3, though activities still are being planned, said Karen Beran, the library’s publicity director.
The old library closed Aug. 2 to accommodate the move.
Marzal said village officials will be seeking redevelopment proposals for the site of the old library.
