Joseph A. Bushala, dearly beloved husband of Elizabeth and father of Christina and Ashley, passed away on Aug. 7. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by three sisters; a brother; and 11 nieces and nephews. Born in Owosso, MI in 1949, he excelled at tennis in his teens, and moved to the Chicago area in 1971 when he began his extensive career as a teaching professional. During the past 33 years he has given thousands of lessons, and endeared himself to hundreds of children and adults, including 4 years as Head Professional at Twin Orchards CC and later as Head Professional at Exmoor Country Club for almost 20 years. In addition to these responsibilities, he gave hundreds of lessons at the College Park Tennis Club in Bannockburn. A Memorial Service celebrating Joe’s life and his dedication to his family, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Village Church, 1319 N. Hunt Club Rd., in Gurnee.
