To win his future wife’s heart, Frank Everhart had to work a little magic. As part of the entertainment at Chicago’s Ivanhoe Restaurant and Theater, Mr. Everhart was responsible for keeping patrons happy from “the magic bar.” “He did sleight-of-hand tricks, close-up magic and lots of comedy,” Marylee Everhart said. He dazzled her with illusions one night in 1967 when she passed by with friends. Two years later, the couple married. Mr. Everhart, 82, died of a heart attack Saturday, July 31, in Alton Memorial Hospital in Downstate Alton. Born in 1921 in Alverton, Pa., Mr. Everhart developed an interest in magic and entertainment. “It’s all he ever did and all he ever wanted to do,” his wife said. boredom of a routine.
