Robert Nielsen Phillips, taken unexpectedly on Aug. 11, 2004, age 54, lovingly survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Kristen, nee Bothum; loving father of Jennifer (Louis) Montanari, Joseph and Emily; new grandfather of Michael Robert Montanari; loving son of Arthur and Lorraine Phillips; dear brother of Paul (Cathy) Phillips; loving son-in-law of Robert and Irene Bothum; dear brother-in-law of Debra (Scott) Monk, Patricia (John) Grilli, Rebecca (Don) Kretlow and Robert Bothum; special uncle to Kevin, Kelsey, Andrew (Kate), Benjamin, Nathan, Troy Anna and Gina; also loved by other relatives, friends, colleagues, his many students and his faithful cat companion, Sybil. Bob was a home and hospital teacher with Milwaukee Public Schools and an executive board member of MTEA. He was a graduate student at Cardinal Stritch University.
