Grace M. Sylvester, age 78, died on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born in Chicago on May 25, 1926, the daughter of the late Rocco and Olympia, nee Monaco, D’Aurelio. She was united in marriage to Louis M. Sylvester on July 6, 1946. Mrs. Sylvester had been a resident of Merrimac since 1978. She is survived by her husband, Louis M. Sylvester of Merrimac; a son, Rocco (Gail) Sylvester of Portage; a daughter, Patricia (Robert) Ruda of Merrimac; four grandchildren, Melanie (Travis) Spencer, Rocco Sylvester Jr., Kevin (Kyra) MacIntyre, Monica Ruda; in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John; two sisters, Angela D’Aurelio and Mary Garafalo. A funeral service will be held at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2004 with Father Francis J. Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetry, Merrimac. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on both Saturday, August 14 and Sunday August 15, 2004. 608-643-6430
