– The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation is hosting public meetings to solicit input on bicycle trails from users before making recommendations to the Cook County Forest Preserve District Board on improving the facilities. The first three are scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Chicago Department of Transportation, 30 N. LaSalle St., 32nd floor conference room; 7 to 9 p.m. Aug 24. at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St.; and 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Morton Grove American Legion Memorial Civic Center, 6140 Dempster St. Two more will be held in September in southern and northwestern Cook County. – More than 500 new and used boats will be on display at the Michigan City In-Water Boat Show Aug. 26 through 29 at the Washington Park Marina, Michigan City, Ind. The 94-foot Hargrave Capri Skylounge Megayacht will be featured as well as Twiggy the water-skiing squirrel. Show hours are noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 26 and 27, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 28 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug 29. Admission costs $8 for adults and $1 for children 12 and younger. – The 20th annual Skip’s Graffiti Gold car show and swap meet will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Lake County Fairgrounds on Illinois Highway 120 in Grayslake. Vehicles will be judged in 32 classes. Entry fee is $10 for nonjudged cars and $15 for judged. Admission costs $7 for adults and $2 for children 6 through 11 and is free for kids younger than 6.
