Emmett Carson Sr., died on Aug. 8, 2004 of a brain hemorrhage while visiting family in Minnesota. A master bridge player, he spent his professional life in Chicago before retiring to Florida. He is survived by a loving wife, Mary; a devoted son, Emmett Devon; daughter-in-law, Jackie; granddaughter, Yetunde; and daughter, Carol Allen Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions be sent to the Emmett Carson Sr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Minneapolis Foundation, C/O IDS Center, 80 South Eighth Street, Suite 800, Minneapolis, MN 55402.
