Sailors truly needed a weatherman to know which way the wind was blowing Sunday. The notorious Meltemi arrived, blowing at a steady 18 knots and gusting to 25. It ricocheted around the watery bowl known as the Saronic Gulf, turbo-charging some boats and swamping about 30 others. The Meltemi, which means “air with no route,” is expected to continue Monday.
