I agree with Mayor Richard Daley’s chiding about the Tribune’s “`Freedom of Information Act request concerning the city’s maintenance of the facade of City Hall . . . ‘” (“Tribune chided by Daley on request; Data plea derided,” Metro, Aug. 12).
The Tribune needs to stay impartial regarding Daley’s accusations that somehow Tribune has become compromised in its reporting about Wrigley Field and the Cubs, which are owned by Tribune Co., even if the accusations are false. Once a newspaper uses its pages to respond to personal attacks and investigates non-news stories to retaliate, its integrity is compromised.
