Lil’ Kim, whose perjury trial is set for early next year, says the charges against her are a “witch hunt against the hip-hop industry.”
Prosecutors say the rapper lied to a grand jury investigating a 2001 shooting in New York that allegedly involved members of her entourage. She is charged with conspiracy, perjury and obstruction. “I am completely innocent of the charges I have been accused of and am very confident that my co-defendants and I will win this case in the courtroom,” she said.
Lil’ Kim proclaimed her innocence at a news conference in which she also announced a new charity organization that will help battered women, runaway children and the homeless, mtv.com reports. She also showed off her Royalty line of luxury watches, which she called “bold, sexy and sophisticated. Basically everything that I am.”
