The movie won’t be released until Sept. 17, but the hype for “Mr. 3000” has started–Bernie Mac bobblehead dolls hit the Tribune office on Tuesday. Mac stars as Stan Ross, a self-centered star who selfishly quit the game in the middle of the season, right after getting his 3,000th hit. Now, 10 years later, three of his hits have been disqualified and the 47-year-old, out-of-shape former slugger attempts a comeback to get the three hits to reach the milestone. Needless to say, he finds it’s not so easy and the media rip every strikeout.
