Morris M. Smith Jr., age 78, died Aug. 9, 2004 after a short illness, beloved son of the late Morris M. Smith and the late Lola Alice, nee Mattox; devoted brother of the late Lola Alice (George) Riddick; and loving cousin of the late L. Pearl Wright. He is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Nancy Barrett. Morris retired, after 37 years of service, as an administrator with the State of Illinois Department of Employment Services. He established the Morris M. Smith Accounting & Tax Consulting Firm which he operated until his death. Visitation Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., with a Memorial Service immediately following, at Griffin Funeral Home, 3232 S. Martin Luther King Drive, 312-842-3232.
