I was deeply moved by the story Tribune foreign correspondent Kim Barker wrote about the Afghan girls coming to America to attend our schools (“A world away from war; Teens learn American culture and interaction as they prepare for a year of study abroad,” Page 1, Aug. 8). I’m at the point where I hate to turn on the TV or even look at the Internet news. It’s depressing seeing a constant dose of negativity about everything.
Keep those stories coming, Kim! We need more of them.
