Kenneth F. Wieg, 80 years, WWII Navy Veteran, peacefully died at his home in Calumet City, IL surround- ed by his loved ones, devoted husband of Annette, nee Gigliotti; beloved father of Beth (Alan) Wiegmann of Polo, IL, Paul Wieg (Victoria Mondejar-Marchante) of New Orleans, LA, Nicole Wieg and the late Kristin Marie; loving stepfather of Danielle (Michael) Clark and Richard Perez; proud grandfather of Nathan and Adam Wiegmann and Aitana Marchante-Wieg; loving Umpa of Marianna Clark; dear brother of Ralph Wieg and Marge Godlewski; dearly loved brother-in-law, uncle and friend of many. A gathering of family and friends at Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, 400 Pulaski Rd. (154th St.), Calumet City, Sunday 2 to 9 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 6 p.m. Interment private. Ken received his Divinity Degree from Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA, went on to University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned an accounting degree. Attended Northwestern Lutheran Seminary and complete his Lutheran Ministry Schooling. Ken served as Pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bremerton, WA from 1953 to 1957. Went on to become the Lutheran Campus Minister at the University of Oregon, Eugene, 1957 to 1970, where he also earned his Ph.D., followed by University of New Mexico Albuquerque as Vocational Counselor and came to this area in 1972 to the Governors State University as Professor of Counseling Psychology until his retirement in 1996. Ken was also a member of Phi Bta Kappa and the American Counseling Association.
