– Jeep has lowered prices on the redesigned 2005 Grand Cherokee by $1,000 to $1,780 from those on 2004 models. Base prices on the ’05s are $26,130 for the Laredo two-wheel-drive, $28,100 for the Laredo four-wheel-drive, $31,455 for the Limited 2WD and $34,045 for the Limited 4WD. Add $645 for freight. A 3.7-liter V-6 is standard on the Laredo, and a 4.7-liter V-8 is standard on the Limited. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on both.
– Base prices on the redesigned 2005 Audi A6 are $40,900 for the V-6 model and $50,500 for the V-8 version, not including the $720 destination charge. The V-6 is a 3.2-liter with 255 horsepower and the V-8 a 4.2-liter with 335 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive are standard on both models, which are due in November.
