LeBron James did not ask for an explanation, and coach Larry Brown was in no mood to offer one Sunday regarding why James had not played in the second half of the Americans’ 94-90 loss to Lithuania a day earlier. “I’m not going to get into why I play players,” said Brown, whose team faces Angola on Monday. “I have 12 guys. You play the guys who at the time you think give you the best chance to win.” James was held scoreless and played 5 minutes 54 seconds against Lithuania. “I’m not guaranteed minutes,” James said. “Anytime I play I try to bring energy. I can’t sit here and lie and say it’s not hard, because it is. I’m not crying about minutes. It’s that I’m just so competitive.”
