Rodney King, the man whose beating by police eventually led to the 1992 L.A. riots and who has been in and out of jail since then, is hoping to turn his infamy into fame–as a rap star.

King told “Celebrity Justice” that his sponsor in drug rehab persuaded him to try rapping, and he now has a CD in the works. The aspiring artist said he hopes to collaborate with some A-list hip-hoppers, including Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kanye West.

Here’s a sample of King’s rhymes: “I had my face broke, I been face down; I had to face tomorrow when I was gettin’ clowned.”
