The absolute worst feature of the CTA are the inconsiderate people who carry too much baggage and wear backpacks. (Rita RedEye question: What’s your CTA gripe? Aug. 10) The people with the backpacks forget to allow for the extra space they are taking up or have no depth perception. I have been slammed in the head, arms and shoulders way too many times. People also get upset if you point it out to them.
They are incredibly rude on mass transit and I cannot understand how someone can be whacking you in the head and stepping on your feet without realizing it. I have worked with people who carry briefcases because they think they look cool, but the only thing in their briefcase is an umbrella and their lunch.
