This is referring to “A white tornado; Jeremy Wariner leads a U.S. 1-2-3 sweep in the 400 meters, the first such U.S. sweep since 1988 and the first time a white American had won the 400 since 1964,” (front page of Sports, Aug. 24). I didn’t realize that we were segregating our medals. Racism is fueled by the mere idea that we track this statistic. I am proud of Wariner because he is an American champion, not because he is white.
