The pressure’s on Andre 3000 to impress at the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend.

Not with his music, but with his wardrobe.

Sunday’s ceremony will be Andre’s first major red-carpet action since being named best-dressed man in the world by Esquire. Not that he’s sweating it–he tells people.com he hasn’t even picked out his outfit yet.

He’ll wear “whatever I feel like that night. The city, the weather and the season can determine what kind of materials or colors you’re going to wear,” he says.

Observers hoping to see a repeat of his lime-green getup at the Grammys may go home disappointed. “It depends on what I want to say at the time, what I’m feeling at the time,” he says.

With Andre in Miami this weekend, earlier reports that he would be in New York on Sunday to help kick off the Republican National Convention are coming into question. The New York Daily News reports that Andre and his OutKast partner Big Boi are booked to host a party for Cognac Navan in Miami; the same time the convention’s opening party kicks off.

“I can confirm 100 percent that both members of OutKast will be hosting the Navan launch party in Miami this Sunday night,” Navan spokesman Kiwan Anderson said. “Besides, Andre 3000 is actually a registered Democrat, and he attended the Democratic National Convention.”
