Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
I have been a reader and supporter of the Chicago Tribune for many years based upon the paper’s notably realistic and moderate political editorial policy. The decision, however, to enter the John Kerry service record fray with a partisan military account by a Tribune employee, an editor no less, has served to contribute to a controversy that is yours to report objectively, not to participate in (“Feb. 28, 1969: On the Dong Cung River; `This is what I saw that day,'” by William B. Rood, Page 1, Aug. 22). I am disappointed that my hometown newspaper has lost sight of its traditional values.
