LL Cool J may not be as relevant as Eminem to rap music, but at least he’s keeping it real.
LL says he’ll never change his look to fit with what’s popular, even though some rappers increase their CD sales by thugging out.
“It’s just that way because a lot of young people like the tough guy,” he told the New York Daily News. “They get off on Eminem’s image too. It’s not racist. People like things that have that fear factor. Look, people watch people eat bugs on TV.”
LL will parrot Eminem, Nelly and other top rappers by coming out with yet another fashion line. This one, a third, more upscale collection, is named after himself: James Todd Smith.
