Rosario Dawson seemingly wasn’t one of the hundreds of thousands of protesters in New York at the opening of the Republican National Convention on Sunday, but she was one of about 240 people who were arrested, people.com reports.

Dawson was filming scenes for the movie “The Revolution,” using the mob scene in Manhattan as a backdrop. Police stopped Dawson, who reportedly was wearing a black bandanna over her face, because of a law that doesn’t allow protesters to hide their identities. An officer told Dawson that she had to leave the roadway, according to a criminal complaint, but she reportedly refused.

Director Stephen Marshall reportedly tried to show police his city film permit but was arrested anyway.

Sources told the New York Post that Dawson didn’t appear to be one of the protesters, but she was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of obstructing governmental administration. She was released without bail and told to return to court Nov. 9.
