Coco is the Spanish word for coconut, and this Puerto Rican eatery definitely incorporates the tropical treat into the menu. From the subtle coconut-crusted shrimp with a thick pina colada dipping sauce ($8), to the rich coffee roasted with coconut chips ($1.50), to coconut- and rum-spiked homemade ice cream ($4). The appetizer platter ($12) is big enough for four people. We liked the mini pastelilios (beef-stuffed turnovers) and the bolitas de yautia (battered and deep-fried root vegetable). We also liked the churrasco caqueno, a marinated skirt steak with a slightly sweet tomato sauce ($19); and the filet dorado, mahi mahi drenched in a creamy lobster bisque ($19). The flan is superb, laced with Don Q rum and plated with guava and chocolate sauce ($5). BYOB for now. 2723 W. Division St. 773-384-4811.
