Working with clients or sliding across the ice in curling competitions, Lorraine Coduti took fun and success seriously. Ms. Coduti, a human resources consultant, enjoyed talking to people as much as she liked finding more effective ways to manage. Ms. Coduti, 61, died Monday, Aug. 30, of breast cancer in her Northbrook home. “She loved networking,” said her sister Frances Geier. She received a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from DePaul University. She began her career at the consulting firm of Coopers & Lybrand before moving to the Kemper Group as manager of compensation, benefits and payroll and then to Blue Cross & Blue Shield Association as director of personnel services. In 1991,, she started The HR Group, a human resources consulting firm based in Northbrook, and worked under her former married name of Lorraine Cardwell. “Lorraine was a very giving person. She never met anybody she didn’t like and was always willing to go the second mile to make things happen,” said Larry Bauman, a colleague and the head of Phoenix Business Consulting Inc. of Vernon Hills. She was the membership chair of the Chicagoland chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants, where she also organized the golf tournament. She was an avid devotee of curling and was a member of the Exmoor Curling Club and the Chicago Curling Club. Other survivors include a daughter, Danielle Allen; two other sisters, Jeanne Coduti and Arlene Stornello; and a brother, James. Services have been held.
