Michael Johnson started off as a mentor to gold medal U.S. sprinter Jeremy Wariner. Now he’s Wariner’s “people,” as in “talk to my ‘people’ if you want to deal.”
See Johnson, a track legend in his own right, also is an agent, and Wariner hired Johnson to represent him, according to USA Today.
It also means Wariner, the 400 meters winner in Athens, has given up his college eligibility at Baylor and will go pro.
USA Today writes that a “white sprinter with a clean-cut image” could expect yearly earnings up to $1 million.
