Kanye West may be spending time on an island soon–and not the sandy-beach variety. The Chicago rapper’s label, Roc-A-Fella Records, may be sold to Island Def Jam, Reuters reports.
Hip-hop mogul Damon Dash, who launched Roc-A-Fella in 1995, is in negotiations with Universal Music-owned Def Jam, but details of the deal aren’t available. A spokesperson for Def Jam, which distributes Roc-A-Fella, had no comment.
In addition to Kanye, Beanie Sigel and Young Gunz–and Jay-Z before his retirement–call Roc-A-Fella home.
