I found the opening speeches at the Republican National Convention so warm and patriotic, they sent tears down our family’s faces. With troops in our family about to deploy to the Middle East, I felt a strong sense of pride in their mission. My daughter and her husband, bound for Iraq and Kuwait, believe President Bush will be the stronger of the candidates during the many years of terrorism we will likely face.
They fear John Kerry more than combat.
