Lt. Col. Delbert O. Carpenter (US Army Retired) age 86, of Crystal Lake, IL, at rest August 26, 2004. Beloved husband of Antoinette, nee Duda; loving brother of the late Catherine Ross; dear uncle of Barbara (William) Baughman, Robert (Lynne) Ross, Ronald (Arlene) Grazetti, Robert Grazetti, Cheryl (Paul) Glazar, Randy Greene; great uncle of many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. In Europe he fought in the D-Day campaign of Normandy and in the Battle of the Bulge. In Korea he was an advisor to the South Korean Army. In peacetime he was stationed in foreign countries in liaison and command assignments. Funeral Services with military honors and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on September 8, 2004. Remembrances in his name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
