Letter writer Edward Sigmund (Voice of the people, Sept. 1) is the one who has it wrong regarding priorities when he complains that corporations spend money to put their names on sports arenas. He thinks they should be donating it for school supplies instead. I have a news flash for him: Advertising dollars are spent to generate business and the resulting profits that are the life’s blood of the corporation. Many corporations are involved in charitable works involving schools of all types. Profits come first, charity later.
